I can heal myself. 11. Body Mind Spirit

The author summarizes the four conditions that enhance natural healing power as “4E”. These are proper eating habits (EAT), unpolluted environment (ENVIRONMENT), moderate exercise (EXERCISE), and mindset (EMOTION). Fortunately, the environmental conditions here are good, so if we reduce it to three things, it can be summarized as Jeonggi (精氣神), where Jeong (精) is food, Ki (氣) is exercise, and Shin (神) is attitude.

There is a saying that you should eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper. Many people skip breakfast, but this is usually because they eat dinner or eat late at night. This becomes a vicious cycle, so it’s natural that you don’t have an appetite in the morning. Organs that should rest overnight are unable to properly repair food while digesting food, and the blood supply to the brain is reduced, making it difficult to have a refreshing and restful morning. If this condition continues for a long time, immunity decreases and you are naturally exposed to various diseases.

Exercise at a level as mild as brisk walking, for about half an hour, is recommended at least five times a week. In winter, we recommend exercises such as the 108-fold exercise or super brain yoga that can be done indoors. Oriental medicine does not recommend extreme exercise or excessive muscle building.

The thing I would most recommend in terms of mindset is breathing control. If possible, take deep breaths for at least 20 minutes every day. This not only supplies maximum oxygen to the body but also allows your consciousness to reach a state of collective unconsciousness, thereby increasing your immunity. At first, do it as often as you can, then gradually increase the time. There is an academic system called THE BIOLOGY OF BELIFE, which states that feelings of love double immunity and feelings of anger double the incidence of disease. This also proves from a medical perspective that “love your neighbors” and “show mercy” are actually for our own benefit, not for others.

Staying healthy is not as difficult as you might think. Of course, if the condition has already appeared, it becomes somewhat complicated, but the basics of Oriental medicine are always focused on maximizing the body’s natural healing power. The reason that acupuncture has almost no side effects is that it reduces pain or promotes healing by adjusting the body’s natural healing power. However, you should not rely only on acupuncture, and it is more important than anything to find the cause of wrongdoing in your life and gradually correct it.
