I can heal myself. 17. Lifestyle diseases

Diseases such as high blood pressure, heart disease, alcoholic liver disease, lung cancer, osteoporosis, arteriosclerosis, and obesity, which were previously called adult diseases, are now called lifestyle diseases. This is because it is no longer limited to age, but lifestyle habits such as eating habits, exercise habits, rest, smoking, and drinking are involved in the onset or progression of the disease. According to Health Canada’s 1974 data, the causes of related diseases are genetic, environmental, and medical issues at 10% each, and lifestyle issues at 60%.

The author simply divides lifestyle into mental habits, exercise habits, and eating habits, which means that if you pay attention to these three, the main causes of disease will be resolved or prevented. The reason why I first started with the eight topics of matter and mind before writing this article was because of mental habits.

During the Zhou Dynasty, there was a doctor called a food doctor. He was a doctor who treated diseases through diet. He said, “Yaksik Dongwon (藥 食 同源)” means that the roots of medicine and food are the same. However, it is said that if the energy is stronger than the taste, it is medicine, and if the taste is stronger than the energy, it is food. Treating the disease with energy (medicine) is faster than treating it with taste (food), but it means that it is possible to treat the disease with taste (food) if it is not urgent. However, since it requires time corresponding to the period of bad lifestyle habits, some patience is required.

Hippocrates, known as the father of Western medicine, also declared that doctors cannot cure diseases that cannot be cured with food. In my case, I often ask questions about eating habits, because uncomfortable symptoms are fundamentally improved just by correcting eating habits. From the next article, let’s look at the five colors of food and find an eating pattern that suits you.
